Isabel Ormin y Toro was born March, 1921, the daughter of an unkown prostitute and Policarpo Toro. Isabel's mother brought her to Policarpo, and then promptly died of tuberculosis. Desparate, Policarpo gave the child to his brother Raul to raise. Raul and his wife Ana took the child in, named her Isabel, and rasied her under their roof. Isabel married Renaldo Ormin on December 13. On the following day, General Policarpo Toro and his men attacked the island; Isabel was killed by a stray bullet.
