I design websites, interfaces, and anything else I get interested in.

I'm pretty easy to find:

I design for the web at a small studio in San Diego Lawrence, Kansas. I spend my free time reading books old enough to be your great-grandfather, redesigning things that don't need to be redesigned, drinking whisky, and playing outside.

I'm more-than-a-little obsessed with Moby Dick, Prester John, and serialized drawing projects. I'm also a board member for a literary society promoting the work of obscure British writer Charles Williams, and own more than one Herman Melville-related domain name.

Press

Over the years, my design projects (some serious, many not) have drawn press coverage from: The New York Times · ESPN · Sports Illustrated · US News & World Report · CBC · Der Spiegel · Fox News · AOL Sports · The Wall Street Journal · MSNBC · BoingBoing · Wired · Make · Design Observer · Kottke · Coudal · The Daily Mail · Cnet · StuffMag · DesignBoom · and lots more.

Experience

Brand New Box | San Diego | Designer & Owner | 2007-Present

I joined Nathan Clark in 2007 at Brand New Box, and together we’ve grown it into a full-service web design & development studio that serves a variety of startups and established businesses.

Cosmobrandlab | Hong Kong | Designer | 2006-2007
At Cosmo I designed high-end goods for global brands outside their internal competencies, like leather goods for watchmakers and luggage for car companies. Clients included Apple, Audi, BMW, Mini, Omega, Toshiba, Toyota, and Volvo.

Cardinal Brands | Lawrence, KS | Designer | 2004-2006

I designed office products and craft storage. As the only designer, I worked on every part of the process: from product conceptualization, prototyping, user testing, to working with manufacturers overseas. Our team sold products in large retailers like Walmart, Staples, Costco, Office Max, Office Depot, and Michaels.
